FinSight SG was built with privacy as a core design principle, not an afterthought. We cannot see your financial data because it never reaches us. This policy explains exactly what we do and do not collect.
1. Who We Are
FinSight SG ("we", "us", "our") operates the personal finance planning tool available at finsight.sg. We are not a financial institution, bank, or MAS-regulated entity. We are a personal finance planning tool built for Singaporeans.

2. Your Financial Data — Stored Locally on Your Device Only
All financial data you enter into FinSight SG is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your own device. This data never leaves your device and is never transmitted to our servers, because we have no servers that store user data.
This includes all data across every module:
- Your profile (name, age, income, CPF balances)
- FIRE planner inputs and projections
- Budget categories, envelopes, and transactions
- Savings goals and progress
- Portfolio holdings and values
- Insurance policies and coverage details
- Net worth entries
We have no ability to access, view, recover, or delete your financial data because it resides only on your device. If you clear your browser storage or switch devices, that data is gone — we cannot recover it for you.
3. Cookies — We Use None
FinSight SG does not use cookies of any kind — not session cookies, tracking cookies, preference cookies, or marketing cookies. You will never see a cookie consent banner on this site because there is nothing to consent to.
4. Analytics — Aggregate Only, No Personal Data
We use Plausible Analytics to understand how many people visit finsight.sg and which features are used. Plausible is a privacy-first analytics tool that:
- Collects no personal data and sets no cookies
- Does not use fingerprinting or cross-site tracking
- Records only aggregate statistics: page views, unique visitor counts, referrer sources, device type (mobile/desktop/tablet), and country
- Is fully compliant with Singapore's PDPA, GDPR, and PECR
- Does not share any data with advertising networks
The data we can see is entirely anonymous and aggregate — for example, "500 visitors this week, 60% on mobile, mostly from Singapore." We cannot identify any individual user.
5. No Account Registration, No Email Collection
FinSight SG requires no account creation and collects no email addresses. You can use the full app without providing any personal information to us whatsoever.
If you choose to submit feedback via our Tally form (tally.so/r/VLV6Vv), any information you provide there is governed by Tally's own privacy policy. You may submit feedback anonymously.
6. Third-Party Services We Use

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising or retargeting technology.
7. Planning Tool — Not Personalised Financial Advice
FinSight SG performs calculations and projections based on data you enter. It does not give personalised recommendations to buy, sell, or hold specific financial products. All information generated by the app is for personal planning purposes only.
The calculations in our FIRE Planner, Insurance module, Budget tracker, and Portfolio module are tools to help you understand your financial picture. They are not tailored financial advice and should not be treated as such.
You should consult a MAS-licensed financial adviser for personalised advice before making any significant financial decisions, including decisions about insurance products, investments, CPF contributions, or retirement planning.
FinSight SG is not licensed under the Singapore Financial Advisers Act (Cap. 110) or the Securities and Futures Act (Cap. 289).
8. PDPA Compliance
Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) applies to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data by organisations. Because FinSight SG does not collect personal data from users (all financial data remains on your device), our obligations under the PDPA are minimal.
The only personal data we may process is aggregate, anonymised analytics data through Plausible, which by design cannot be used to identify any individual.
9. Data Security
Since we do not store your financial data on any server, there is no central database that can be breached to expose your information. Your data security depends on the security of your own device and browser.
We recommend:
- Keeping your device and browser updated
- Using a screen lock on your device
- Exporting and backing up your data periodically using the in-app export function
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
