These Terms are written in plain English. FinSight SG is a free personal finance planning tool — not a licensed financial adviser, not a bank, and not a product that holds or moves your money. Please read the key points below before using the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using FinSight SG at finsight.sg (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
2. No Financial Advice
FinSight SG does not provide financial advice. Nothing in the Service — including FIRE projections, budget suggestions, insurance benchmarks, portfolio summaries, net worth calculations, or any other output — constitutes personalised financial advice, investment advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product.
The Service performs calculations and projections based solely on data you enter. These outputs are estimates for personal planning purposes only. They do not account for your complete financial circumstances and may not be accurate.
FinSight SG is not licensed under the Singapore Financial Advisers Act (Cap. 110) or the Securities and Futures Act (Cap. 289). We are not a MAS-regulated entity.
You should consult a MAS-licensed financial adviser before making any financial decisions, including decisions about insurance, investments, retirement planning, or CPF contributions.
3. You Are Responsible for Your Data
All data you enter into FinSight SG is stored exclusively in your web browser's local storage (IndexedDB) on your own device. We do not receive, store, or have access to any of your financial data.
- It is your responsibility to keep your device secure and to back up your data if needed.
- If you clear your browser data, uninstall the app, or switch devices, your FinSight SG data will be lost. We cannot recover it for you.
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy of any data you enter and for any decisions you make based on the Service's outputs.
- We recommend exporting your data periodically using the in-app export function as a backup.
4. Service Provided "As Is"
FinSight SG is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Accuracy or completeness of calculations, projections, or benchmarks
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Uninterrupted or error-free access
- That results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable
CPF projections, insurance benchmarks, and portfolio estimates are approximations based on publicly available data and may differ from official figures. Market prices are sourced from third-party APIs and may be delayed or inaccurate.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Singapore law, FinSight SG and its creator(s) shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Any financial decisions made based on information from the Service
- Loss of data due to browser clearing, device failure, or any other cause
- Inaccuracies in projections, benchmarks, or market data
6. Affiliate Links
The Service may contain links to third-party financial products and services (such as insurance comparison platforms, robo-advisors, or brokerage accounts). Some of these links may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase — at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate links are clearly disclosed near where they appear. The presence of an affiliate link does not constitute an endorsement or recommendation of any specific product. You should conduct your own research and consult a licensed adviser before purchasing any financial product.
7. Intellectual Property
The Service, including all code, design, text, and data compilations, is the intellectual property of FinSight SG. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written permission.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service uses third-party APIs to retrieve market prices (Yahoo Finance API, SGX data). These services are provided by third parties and their availability and accuracy are outside our control. We are not liable for any inaccuracies or outages from these services.
We use Plausible Analytics for aggregate, cookieless website analytics. No personal data is shared with Plausible. See our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
